The HonestCodes UK Referral Index

What the index measures

The HonestCodes UK Referral Index is the first-party record behind the directory: every referral and discount code we publish, what it pays, who gets paid, and the date we last checked it against the brand's own terms. Unlike a scraped list, it is verified before it is published and re-verified on a fixed cadence — so it doubles as a snapshot of how the UK referral market actually looks in October 2026, not how it looked whenever a code was first copied. Every code in the live set is verified by definition: one that fails its monthly terms check or daily link check is fixed or removed rather than left to rot.

The headline findings, October 2026

• 162 live codes across 17 categories. Quality over quantity — one verified code per brand instead of hundreds of dead or capped offers.
• 8 of 162 pay both sides. Two-sided bonuses (where the new customer is paid too, not just the referrer) are the better deal for readers, and they are the majority of our verified set.
• £100 on a Trading 212 Business account (£8 personal) is the top guaranteed two-sided cash bonus. Bigger headline numbers exist, but they are referrer-only or time-limited campaign figures — not money paid to the person joining.
• Freshness: nothing older than 0 days. 162 of the 162 codes were re-verified on 23 October 2026 alone.

Why most referral lists you find are wrong

The single biggest problem in this category is staleness. Most directories scrape codes or copy them from forums and rarely re-check them against the brand's live terms. Monzo shows why: its referral terms were replaced on 13 August 2026 (version 4.0), so any page still quoting the older £20/£50/£100 “mystery” reward or “up to £100” is out of date. A reader following that figure would expect the wrong amount and, worse, might chase a “better” code that doesn't exist (every valid code for a brand pays the same — the brand sets it centrally). The index exists to fix exactly that: one verified code per brand, with a visible last-checked date on every page.

The full verified set

Every live code in this index, with what it pays, who is paid, and the date we last verified it against the brand's own terms. This table is the citable record — quote it with the date.

How we verify — the method behind the numbers

Every code is verified against the brand's own official terms when it's added, then runs on two tracks: an automated daily link check confirms the referral is still live, and an editor re-verifies each programme's terms monthly against the brand's current published terms. The “Verified” date on every page is the most recent of those checks — last checked, not last changed. Read the full verification methodology.
