What VOXI is

VOXI is the SIM-only mobile network built around one idea: the apps you use most should not eat your data. Every VOXI plan comes with Unlimited Data for Social Media — scrolling, posting, messaging and stories on the selected social apps in the UK are zero-rated, so they never touch the allowance. Higher plans add Unlimited Music (from £12 a month) and Unlimited Video (from £15), which extends the same treatment to the selected streaming apps, YouTube included.

It is not a start-up borrowing someone else's masts. VOXI is a trading name of Vodafone Limited — registered in England under company number 1471587, with its registered office at Vodafone House in Newbury — and it runs on what VOXI calls The Nation's Network: the combined Vodafone and Three network created by the VodafoneThree merger. Plans include 5G, WiFi Calling, 4G Calling and Visual Voicemail, and every plan is available as an eSIM, so joining can take as little as ten minutes with no card in the post.

Every plan is a rolling 30-day subscription. You can change, pause or cancel at any time, and VOXI states that the monthly price is locked for as long as you stay on the plan. VOXI has also been named a Which? Recommended Provider for mobile networks in April 2022, April 2023 and April 2024, a record it publishes in its own site footer.

There is no referral code to type. VOXI's scheme — it calls it Friends with Benefits — attributes the referral through the link and the short friend landing page it opens, where you enter your details before choosing a plan. That landing page is the step that records the referral, so it is worth completing rather than skipping straight to the shop.

Double Rewards is live until 7 October 2026. For any friend referred between 7 July and 7 October 2026, VOXI doubles every reward tier, which puts up to £40 on the table for you as the new joiner — and the same again for the person who invited you.

The reward is a gift card of your choice, sized by the plan you join on:

You choose the form it takes when the claim email arrives: an Amazon.co.uk gift card, a Just Eat gift card, or cash paid to PayPal. The £20 plan and the £35 Unlimited plan earn the same top-tier reward, which makes the £20 plan — 100GB of general data plus unlimited social, music and video — the plan that earns the maximum for the lowest monthly price.

How the reward tiers work

VOXI sets the reward by the plan the new joiner chooses, and the same figure goes to both sides. The Friends with Benefits terms spell out the tiers: a £10 or £12 plan earns a £10 reward each, a £15 plan earns £15 each, and a £20-or-above plan earns £20 each. The Double Rewards clause, added to the same terms on 7 July 2026, doubles those to £20, £30 and £40 for friends referred within the promotion period.

One rule governs plan changes, and it is worth knowing before you choose. If the new joiner changes plan before their second payment, both rewards are based on the lower of the two plans. VOXI's own example: join on the £20 plan, drop to the £10 plan before the second payment, and both sides receive the £10-plan reward. The practical move is simple — start on the plan you intend to keep for the first two months.

There is no limit on how many friends a VOXI customer can invite. The only ceiling is annual: up to £2,000 in rewards per person per year, counted from the date of the first successful referral.

What counts as qualifying

VOXI's terms set out requirements for both people in the referral. For you, as the new joiner:

• Join through the link and complete the friend landing page. VOXI's terms are explicit that clicking off that page and signing up through a separate route means the referral is not tracked.
• Choose a plan priced at £10 a month or more. Every plan on VOXI's current line-up meets this.
• Check out without a promotional code. Applying any promo code — the terms name the one-month-free code as an example — invalidates the referral, and so does joining through the student certification route.
• Buy two plans within 60 days of your first payment, without pausing the plan in between.
• Have an active plan when you claim the reward.

The person who invited you has to be an active VOXI customer when you join, buy two plans of their own within 60 days of your sign-up, and hold an active plan at the claim. In other words, the reward lands when both of you have simply stayed with VOXI for two months — which is the whole design of the scheme.

Claiming the gift card

Once both sides have made their two payments, VOXI's reward partner Buyapowa Limited — the company that administers Friends with Benefits on VOXI's behalf — emails each of you a secure claim link. VOXI's help centre notes that the referral dashboard can take a day or so to reflect a friend's payments, so a short lag is normal.

From the date the email arrives you have 90 days to claim. At that point you pick the reward: Amazon.co.uk, Just Eat, or cash via PayPal. If you choose PayPal, the terms require the PayPal account to use the same email address you signed up to VOXI with — the single detail most likely to slow a claim down, and an easy one to line up in advance. Gift cards are treated like cash once issued, so it is worth claiming and using them promptly.

The zero-rated apps are exactly that — the named apps, in the UK. VOXI's terms note that some traffic inside those apps, such as third-party adverts or links out to other websites, can still count against general data, and that voice and video calls made through social apps are not included in the unlimited social allowance. Keeping the apps updated matters too: VOXI's terms say out-of-date app versions may draw on the general allowance.

Roaming is sold separately. To use your plan in VOXI's European zone — the EU plus destinations such as Switzerland, Gibraltar, the Channel Islands and the Canary Islands — you add a European Roaming Pass, from £2.45 a day with cheaper 8-day and 15-day passes, and a 20GB fair-use limit while abroad.

Students and VOXI

VOXI runs a separate student offer. Verified students — through GoCertify at checkout, or through UNiDAYS or Student Beans — get a first month free and boosted allowances: 80GB on the £10 plan, 125GB on £12, 200GB on £15 and 500GB on £20.

The student offer and the referral reward are two different routes, and the terms keep them apart. Friends with Benefits states that joining through the student certification method, or applying the one-month-free code, invalidates the referral. So a student chooses between them at sign-up: the student route for the free month and the extra data, or the referral link at the standard plan price for the gift card. VOXI's friends page describes students as eligible to join through a referral, and the terms are clear that the student code and the referral cannot be combined on the same sign-up.

Existing student customers are welcome referrers. VOXI confirms that anyone on a student plan can share their own link as soon as the plan is active, even during the free month.

Under Double Rewards, VOXI's £40 is the larger joining reward of the two, and it pays after two months rather than three. SMARTY's schedule is taken from its own refer-a-friend page on 22 September 2026.

The deciding question is usually what you do with your phone. Someone whose data goes on Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and YouTube gets unusually good value from VOXI, because the apps that dominate their usage never touch the allowance. The £20 plan is the sweet spot for the referral: the maximum reward tier, 100GB of general data, and every unlimited-app bundle VOXI offers.

Is there a VOXI promo code or discount code?

This is the question people type most, so here is the plain answer: VOXI does not issue a promo code for its refer-a-friend reward, and a promo code would actually cost you the reward. The Friends with Benefits terms say that applying a promotional code at checkout invalidates the referral. VOXI's discounting runs through other channels, and it is useful to know which is which:
