The devices, in more detail
XGO3 is the simplest way in. It is a SIM-equipped watch with calls and voice messages to approved contacts, real-time GPS on a map in the Guardian app, safe zones with alerts when the child enters or leaves them, school mode and a touchscreen designed for small hands. At £99 it is the best-value Xplora device on sale.
X6Play is the flagship. Xplora lists a faster processor, a sharper and brighter screen, longer battery life, better speaker sound and more storage than its earlier models, and every X6Play comes with two extra frames and loops in pink and green so the child can change its colour. Its tariff is £7.99 a month on a 12-month minimum term.
XploraOne is a phone rather than a watch — Xplora calls it a "startphone" for children, with calls and messages and no social media, internet or apps. HMD Fusion X1, sold by Xplora, is the step up: a smartphone whose capabilities parents decide.
What every Xplora device includes
- Supervised contacts. Only numbers a parent approves in the Guardian app can call or message the device — no unknown callers, no spam.
