Amazon Prime Christmas delivery: how One-Day Delivery works
Good news for last-minute shoppers: Prime Christmas delivery on Amazon means unlimited, free One-Day Delivery on eligible items for Prime members. Amazon has not published its 2026 Christmas order dates yet, so trust the delivery date shown on the product page and again at checkout. Not every delivery speed is available for every product or postcode, so check before you buy. Christmas Eve 2026 falls on Thursday 24 December and Christmas Day on Friday 25 December.
New to Prime? Your first 30 days are free, then it is £8.99 a month or £95 a year, and you can cancel before the trial ends. Students and 18 to 24 year-olds get six months free. Same-day delivery and Amazon Christmas delivery dates 2026
Want it the same day? Amazon Prime members can get Same-Day Delivery on eligible orders over £20 in selected postcodes. Not every delivery speed is available for every product or postcode, so check the delivery date shown on the product page. Prime also includes unlimited free One-Day Delivery on eligible items, which is a handy backup.
Here is the straight answer on Amazon Christmas delivery dates 2026: Amazon has not published them yet. Christmas Eve 2026 falls on Thursday 24 December and Christmas Day on Friday 25 December. For reference only, Amazon's own Christmas page from 2020 gave 23 December for One-Day Delivery and 24 December for Same-Day Delivery. Treat those as a pattern from 2020, never as 2026 dates. Trust the delivery date on the product page and at checkout, which is the rule Amazon follows every year.
Gift options and returns on Amazon
Shopping for someone special? Most items can be sent with a gift message, so your note arrives with the parcel. You can also choose a gift receipt that hides the price, so the cost stays private. Before you order, check the Amazon Christmas delivery dates 2026 shown on the product page and again at checkout, because that date is the one to trust.
Still deciding what to give? Browse our Amazon Christmas gift ideas for inspiration. Last year Amazon extended its returns window, so most items bought between 1 November and 31 December 2025 could be returned until 31 January 2026. That meant early gifts could still go back, so check the returns rules when you buy.
What to do if you have left it late
Wondering about the last day to order on Amazon UK for Christmas? Amazon has not published its 2026 dates yet. Trust the delivery date shown on the product page and at checkout, as not every speed suits every product or postcode. Prime One-Day Delivery covers eligible items, and Same-Day Delivery covers eligible orders over £20 in selected postcodes. Amazon's 2020 Christmas page gave 23 December as the last day to order for One-Day Delivery and 24 December for Same-Day. Still short on time? Amazon eGift Cards were listed as a last-minute gift on that 2020 page.
While your parcels travel, enjoy something of your own. Audible is free for 30 days for new members. Prefer reading? Kindle Unlimited is free for 30 days for new subscribers, then £9.49 a month. Compare the Audible free trial and the Kindle Unlimited free trial, then pick what suits you.
